True but I wouldnt turn my nose up at a Bentley, Aston or Roller.

They have a TVR Chimera in there at the moment as one of their customers was mug-enough to buy it second hand. The dealer told me that the chap had bought it in for them to tune and check out as it was "behaving strangely". They have found so much wrong with it, it is "unbelievable" I was told...........my reply to them was that if they sold TVR then they would find anything is believable Very Happy

Laughing Laughing Very true... an ex-colleague of mine had to have the engine in his TVR rebuilt twice before they wanted to provide him with a new, replacement vehicle. Unsurprisingly, he didn't want it.

I have no idea. All I know is that despite me being a really insignificant customer (financially speaking) compared to their Bentley and Roller customers, I am treated really well. They even use my first name and share their jokes and moans about other customers with me (as you live in Germany, you will understand what a customer-service breakthrought this is!! Very Happy ).

Having worked with and for investment bankers, Ceo types and company owners, I appreciate that most are a bunch of money grabbing, two faced, backstabbing B******* they are, almost without exception.

Auto Konig in Anzing are top-class (they even offered me one of their staff ice creams when it was hot Very Happy )

I still have this blasted "resonance" coming out of the engine, gearbox, transmission area. The area rep from Landrover has told German Landrover customer services that there is no noise. The gearbox specialist said that there is a noise but it is definately not the gearbox. I take the car back in again tomorrow to see if they can find out what is causing it or at least what is making it!
Oh yes, my cruise control is being replaced again (it just packs up now and then Question )

I think that this resonance problem may take a while to resolve!

Have taken my car to the dealer about this resonance.

The technical manager at Landrover says that there is a resonance that we have established is not the gearbox! (He disputes the Landrover area representatives view that there is no noise!)
The technician says he will contact Landrover about the problem and he will also give us a letter to confirm there is a problem with no fix at the moment! (this will cover any work if the car goes out of warranty)
Furthermore, he said that the cost of fixing the problem does not matter as if it costs 10,20 or 30 thousand euros then they will fix it covering the costs themselves BUT he wants to avoid giving us a new car!
They are also putting in a new cruise-control switch as the cruise is not working again.
I still love driving this car though!! Very Happy

Hi Angel. Sorry to hear that you have to fit a new exhaust, bit bloody pricey though out here the price for the part is probably 40 cents with the other 849.60 euros made up in labour! Very Happy

There is a fix for the gearbox software BUT it is only a fix for a problem that manifests itself soley in 3rd gear. They have tried that with my car but as it happens in a variety of gears and rpm ranges, it did not fix the problem.

The Landrover "specialist" has really irked me as he is the only one that claims he cannot hear anything. I told the technical boss at Konig that:
1. The bloke is deaf from working for Landrover for 25 years
2. He is only looking for an easy life, pending retirement
3. I do not want him near my car again
4. I do not accept being called a liar by the chap or anyone else

It looks like I am finally getting some movement from Landrover on it too as the UK are looking at the problem. I do not want a new car though! Confused

u misunderstood me for the exhaust:

The particlefiltre wasnt available when tha car was build - it is only now and the new TDV6 2007 has it build in - as for the *old* ones 2006 models u have to pay for it as an extra.

BTW no particlefiltre in your car means start from 2007 u aint allowed to drive in big towns Shocked

-----------------------------
gearbox - *it happens in a variety of gears and rpm ranges* excactly the same here - we will see what happens next week.

BTW the technician from LR Germany should be Mr. Klaus for South Germany - he is an old friend of mine - he worked for Jaguar Germany before...

Oh right. I did not know the particle filter was available. Will that put it in a lower tax bracket too??!!

Does your noise come from the front, lower end of the car and does it happen when you accelerate and then take your foot off the gas??!! It also happens and stays at around 80kmh.

I do not know the guys name but he is short, has grey hair, speaks English quite well but is deaf or thinks I am stupid...."I cannot hear a noise, well it is only a slight noise but if you put the air-con on then it is barely noticeable, well, all cars make that noise, it is normal". "We have put the software on and the noise is quiter, actually there is no noise" (in direct contradiction of myself, my wife, my brother in law, the Landrover Technical boss at Konig, the gearbox specialist, etc etc) Shocked
