Umbertob - very correct. The 315/35 in 22" will yield an actual 74.94 mph when the speedo reads 70 mph. That's quite a variance... 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge |

For those of you that have 22 wheels what is the correct tire size ? is it 285/35-22 or 265/35-22 ? I have some overfinch wheels on order but are available with tires size 265 not the 285. I have a supercharged that come with 275/40-20 tires. I am curious why overfinch pair up their wheels with the 265's RRS Supercharged Java Black /Ebony 1st Edition

Well, basically you need a T.U.V number for the wheels that will show approval for your car, without it your vehicle is illegal. The T.U.V is like a standards agency so if you have wheels that are suitable and approved that are over and above what is needed, if it has not TUV number for your car then you cannot put them on. There is a loophole, however. My brother in law has a Ford Puma (brilliant fun to drive) and I put upgraded front brakes and pads on it. The TUV said they were illegal (despite proving to stop the car in 20% shorter distance and giving more control whilst doing so) and was told that in order to pass the TUV and make his car legal, he had to refit the old (far inferior) Ford brakes ![]() The brake manufacturer said that though they had no TUV number for Germany they had an ECE number that covers the EU and therefore supercedes German law. We took the documentation to the TUV, informed them of the law and they said................"Oh, you are correct so we will pass the brakes and you are road legal". I intend to buy the wheels in the UK (with an ECE number) and tell them to stick it!!! ![]() |

TUV is there to protect the end consumer from cheap copies from Asia which can cause accidents... Every wheel shouldhave a TUV certificate! |

I would think that your brakes are going to wear much faster with the bigger wheels. |
