Don't see why not, if LR can be bothered to produce it.

This may be a silly question - but how does the old sat nav know that you are moving ? -

I assume it isnt relying on the GPS data.. RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

You'd hope so - but wouldnt it be simple to remove the connection between the ECU and the Satnav ? RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

I would think this would confuse the system. The ecu knows how fast you're traveling linked in with the sat nav etc.etc. = position on map. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The ECU wouldnt get any speed from the satnav.
After all - GPS speed isnt accurate and is an average speed between two points.

I'm sure there must be an easy way to override this functionality... RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

The ECU gives it to the sat nav system. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The restriction on inputting or playing with the touch screen is speed related. You can still do it if rolling very slowly in Drive, so it is not gearbox switched.

In effect though all that happens is that certain screen controls are disabled. I would guess the vehicles speed is the trigger via the ECU to a simple screen function on/off affair and nothing to do with the actual Satnav system/disc etc.

I have NO idea how it could be disabled manually other than via a software hack, which is presumably how the dealers will do it, if they offer it as an option that is.

I have not yet found it to be an issue because you can still input previous addresses that are stored in the system when on the move. It's only when a brand new address is required that it's a problem. L319 D4 HSE

Why would it - The satnav can work out the speed using the GPS data.
It wouldnt be able to do anything with the data anyway. RRS TDV8 HSE - Hybrid TV - Sunroof - Adaptive Front Headlights - Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system

Hi

When I picked up my 06MY TDV6 4 weeks ago, they told me they would be able to update the software for nav on the move - but only once they start shipping the 07MY cars, and are therefore issued with 07MY updates.

I spoke to the dealer yesterday and this still hasnt happened, but he hopes to have it int he nex month. They have also 'ordered' the lazy lock update from LR and are awaiting its arrival - not sure, but I guess they send these things out on disc ?
