It isn't the customer service, all sweetness and light, it's the fact that everybody is so ineffectual and nothing gets done unless you are on the phone constantly chasing and hounding somebody's back end. No body seems to give a |

Yet again can only offer greatest sympathy watching this tale of woes. Amazing that LR don't seem to able to install an engine satisfactorily. Did they test your theory about a knocking small end by disconnecting fuel injectors one at a time? If there is an issue then unloading the bearing in this way is supposed to stop the noise isn't it?

Simon, sorry to hear that your motor is still not right after all this time and work that has gone into it. Why hasn't the dealer got the engine supplier involved and asked them to find out what the problem is with the engine? At the end of the day, your dealer has only fit the engine, if the problem is internal then surely its the engine supplier's problem. Tbh, i would of thrown the towel in a long time ago, how the hell have you hung on to it for so long i will never know. |

I think I'd be suggesting that a large advert in a major daily paper will be expensive for me but it will probably be more expensive to them in lost potential sales. Perhaps you could borrow a trailer and park it outside the dealership with a big board on it saying how you've been messed around. So long it's parked legally they can't do a thing about it. Might shame them into doing something to sort it out.

Thanks for the support guys. I think If I was to publish the entire truth, no one would believe it.

I’ve been watching this topic over the months and was hoping you’d get the vehicle back and be good to go and I’m very sorry about all your challenges with this particular RRS. I purchased a 2008 RRS which had previously had a replacement engine fitted by LR main agent. I naively thought this would be a good thing (although always struggled to understand why such a vehicle would need an engine after 50k miles).

That's the point though - they have no legal duty to you. Moral duty is irrelevant, sadly. I can't help but think that the law should be changed with regards to new cars - the manufacturer should have a legal duty to you even though you bought it through a third party (the franchised dealer). Second hand cars, of course, would remain as they are now. Although, in my view, if there is a known issue they should still have some liability in the second hand market - think latent defects etc. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Well finally.... After two weeks of arse scratching, Land Rover are obviously reading these posts, they are sending a tech wizzo to inspect my car and decide if the noise which is now evident all the time, is engine or gearbox/torque converter related.
