left blender motor replace

Just got my car back from a 134.000 service. Found out that the left blender motor is broken and thats why its only coming warm air out from just one vent:(

Anyone know if its an expensive job? RRS 2006 2.7 HSE

blend motor is about £20 getting to the Censored is another thing, from what i gather its not an expensive job, around 1 hr. If you took some fog and put it in a jar, would it be missed.

The left hand side (passenger side in the UK) requires the glove box to be removed and the workshops manual says a special tool is required to remove the hinge pins for the glove box.

Does anyone know if there's a trick to doing it without the special tool ?

That's the vertical panel that goes down to the footwell and all the way back to the armrest.

To get it out, you need to remove the sat nav surround, central console (Gear level knob, Park brake and terrain control assembly, fridge/box and the top of the central console), you'll need to remove the trim near the steering wheel (square-ish block), the length of trim that runs alongside the panel you eventually want to remove (sort of runs along your leg when you sit in the car), then you should be able to finally remove the instrument reinforcement panel.

It mostly unclips from the body of the car, there may be 6 or 8 screws to remove in total.

Look for my post on DIY installation in maintenance and modifications and you'll get an idea of what you need to remove, although I've not gone as far as you'll need to.

Damn!
Purhaps this is why my dealer said 6 hours Rolling Eyes

So the blender is located at my left leg, but I need to remove all the bits on my right leg side...

So this is the only way to get to the left blender on a LHD.

A bit to much work for me in the garage i think....hehe RRS 2006 2.7 HSE
