What's that sounds?

When I switch my RRS's engine off, I can hear something still whining under the bonnet - it's not the wife, so just wondered what it could be?

Yes - more whining than clicking - also does it if I switch the ignition on and then off again even without starting the car. Is it some sort of priming pump? Wife's Car: BLACK RRS TDV8 HSE with all the bits Smile

I've had a v8 for 3 weeks now and have noticed the same sound, with the bonnet up it appears to be coming from the upper central area of the inlet area, sounds a little like a high voltage line whistling.
I would be interested in the answer to this issue.

I can faintly hear the DVD running for the sat nav running under the passenger seat. Do you think it could be that as it becomes active as soon as the car is opened and whirls away after the engine is switched off. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

The compressor for the suspension is mounted nearside rear wheel area not under the bonnet, or it is on mine.

The noise can be heard even when the engine has not been started. If I turn the ignition and and don't start up when I turn off and get out the noise is there.

+1 Thumbs Up Also you will hear the other systems priming themselves, boosting coolant through the AC etc

There are a few, one i want to know is the buzzer like sound until you lock after you shut down.

I know inside you can hear the infotainment system, outside the compressor can be heard when the engine is off Mike
