Yep, I managed to get the free 3 years servicing thrown in as well. Although mine is not owned by the company it is used almost exclusively for business trips. Free servicing must be worth a couple of grand I would have thought.

Tastech, are you having Rimini with Ebony or Alpaca? They are both good looking combinations......

I am curious and its probably a question that has been answered before....a long time ago. Why do you have a BMW and no longer have an RRS?

Tastech, I was about to tell you about a Rimini in stock but it has ebony interior so it would have been no good. I seriously thought about your combination but I ended up going for the Stornoway with Ebony.I think I have worked out how to post a picture taken today in Melbourne

I got rid of the RRS primarily because I moved into a new job where my mileage ramped up from about 400 miles/month to 2000 miles/month and the running costs became unsustainable, especially at the rate I seemed to go through brakes and tyres. I've always been a BMW driver - the RRS was my first non-BMW in about 10 yrs, so I moved from the RRS into a 535d.

Then a second sprog came along and coincided with my first sprog going off to school, costing money in the process. Now, we've just moved house which, while bigger needs lots doing to it. The end result is I can no longer be spending money on cars that I want to buy, thus the crapmobile... Big Cry But it's OK - gutless, but as someone said to me the other day (who knows nowt about cars), it's still a BMW... I'd much rather be driving around in something else, but needs must and all that Very Happy

Been there, done the house thing in the 1980s. Ended up with a real piece of junk which I am too embarrassed to mention...never did the kid thing though so I still have enough to run my RRS!! I have been a long time on and off BM owner as well, I think they are great cars. The 535d must have been a wolf in sheep's clothing....we only get the 530d here. I looked at those but no good for towing the boat. So when I needed something SUV size, I just couldn't bring myself to buy an X5...great cars but I just couldn't see myself in one. Sounds strange huh?

Don't forget the pictures Tastech.......

B, if the 535d ever makes landfall in the colonies I suggest the first thing you go out and do is buy one Thumbs Up Fantastic engine: unbelievable that it's a diesel really and as an overtaking vehicle was unsurpassed by anything else I've ever owned, even my M3.

BKHK - I managed to get what i thought was a good discount from MLR on my brand new TDV6, but I wasn't trading anything in as the HSV had been stolen. Included the 3 years servicing as well. Which salesperson were you dealing with?

Interestingly when getting mine I was told that no one in Melbourne buys Rimini, and they can't shift them when they come in as stock - I think i have only ever seen one. My white was the first I had seen, but have since seen about another 5 or 6 including another one last night - the colour's becoming as common as much! Laughing
