Hi Tastech

I have only been waiting a couple of weeks.

I was going to buy one from dealer "stock" but the one I looked at didn't have a sunroof which I wanted. The dealer mentioned that they had one in Stornoway with the right spec landing on April 30th so I agreed to take it.

Is yours a TDV6? My dealer said that sales had slowed a little since the last rate rise and was very keen to do a deal. I am very happy with driveaway the deal I got from them.

Yeah its a TDV6...anything more would have meant mortgaging my other nut as well.
mmm...my deal was ok...but i didnt really push at all, cause i was after a fast delivery ...
but that didnt work...cause they got some of the options wrong...so i had to start again.

Did you get it yet? Picked mine up on Friday. So far, I am really impressed in the first 300km. My wife had a drive on Saturday and she also approves totally now that we have taken deivery.....she wasn't in favour but seems to be won over! A decent bottle of French Champaign (Mrs BKHK loves it, I hate it) and a nice hamper were supplied with the delivery (maybe that's why she approves of the car, she must think we will get a hamper every service!!)

Let me know how you go.

BKHK welcome to ownership, at times you will be a bit miffed and question your sanity, but generally you will have a grin on your face. Remember the RRS is not as common as the X5 over here, and the Sport still turns heads Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Sure is a nice touch Shocked Cool

We get nothing like that this part of the world. A quarter tank of fuel is about the best you’d hope for Rolling Eyes

Thanks Zilch, this is a great site. I do seem to have a few stares at the car, they aren't that common so maybe you're right. X5's are getting very common around here.

Rupert, hamper AND a full tank of diesel and a follow up call from the dealer today...can't complain...yet.

Tastech, let us know when you get it. Customs takes from 5-7 days I believe.

I tank full of fuel would have been much appreciated, I got less than a quarter tank, left the stealers, went 10 miles and the petrol light came on.... BKHK - which dealer did you use? I used MLR in Port Melbourne and they gave me a poxy bunch of flowers when I collected it, as well as a photography session at a studio in Richmond! Talk about 'metro-sexual'! I'm a bachelor so had to give them away to a female friend!

Although many weeks later I did get a LR rug and the LR off road driving DVD in the post. Kinda made up for the useless gifts!

Hi 2nd Rower

I initially test drove at MLR in Port Melbourne because I was looking initially at a used RRS. However, they didn't seem very keen to discuss meaningful business. They were offering a lousy trade for my 2006 BMW 323i E91 Touring and didn't even want to discuss any discounting on a 2005 Buckingham Blue RRS they had in stock (which they had owned for some time). Discussions around a new RRS again didn't really produce any willingness to discount or give a decent trade in/changeover figure.

After looking on the internet, I contacted Peter Somers at Lance Dixon in Doncaster, initially about a "new" RRS which they had in stock. However, that particular RRS didn't have a sunroof which I wanted. LD looked at what spec cars were arriving in the next shipment and suggested that for similar money I could have a fresh new RRS straight off the boat in the colour and spec that I wanted.

I visited their dealership in Doncaster, discussed trade in and a drive away price for the RRS. I knew the value range of my trade in and I wanted near top dollar because I keep my cars very clean (its only my wife and I so there isn't much wear and tear). I also wanted discount on a new RRS. We discussed what it would take to do a deal, haggled (down) and the deal was done. Compared with MLR where the change over from my BMW to a new RRS would have cost $45k, Lance Dixon did the change over for $35k....quite a saving.

The whole experience has been very good and I recommend them without hesitation from my personal perspective.
