There have been reports of brake pads - particularly at the rear needing replacement at less than 10k with lots of use of Adaptive Cruise due to continual feathering of brakes. If you look on the US forum there are loads of threads about it.

I've spoken to an indie who says it is possible, so I have asked for a quote to compare against the main dealership. I did read some posts on the US site, hence my query about ADC, but was wondering if anyone on this side of the pond had had the same. |

Paddy, 27,000 miles and I have the same message. looks like it's the rear pads that are gone. landrover circa £400, local indy doing them for £350.

Hi Chunk, had the rear pads replaced today at a main dealer as the price was much the same as the indie. The main dealer also do Blue Light discount which brought it in at £436. Tyres are okay at the moment, thankfully! |

seems about the right mileage. I have 48k on the clock and am coming up to my second set of front pads. garage says the front wears quicker on these as the front does most of the braking. mind you the price for the pads themselves comes in at about £220 |

Paddy, you are doing well to get 26k out of the front tyres with no sign of needing to be changed.

Just a thought, could it be that one of you is driving a hybrid PHEV and the other is not hence the difference in brake pad wear? Be interested to know |

Ah ok, yours is an L494 with a different braking system so will be different usage compared to the L461. I got to nearly 30k in my 70 plate without needing pads before i traded it in |

Scrumps, funnily enough this is my 4th and the first one I’ve needed brakes for. |
