Mine is only a small crack I think I'm going to try super glue and baking soda, I have 3 weeks to wait before the Dealer can look at it.

Both mine cracked, warranty specifically said inlet manifolds weren't covered, however, given that my engine had been refurbed by the same warranty firm they agreed to pay half the costs. Had a quote of £750 for genuine parts all fitted, clearly a cheap quote , got job done and went to collect the vehicle. "I've underquoted you by £800" said the mechanic , "my fault though so I won't ask for any more" he said. Result was the warranty paid half of the £750 and I got a £1550 job done for £375. Result |

Hi i had a interesting call with LR Customer service or non service to be honest. So there is a LR bulletin LTB00768v2 an official document that states under cause:Material Thickness and fillet radius of the valve cover not to specification.I asked as they state it’s not to specification so by that statement not fit for purpose they would be replacing any defective units covered by the vin numbers they listed free of charge?Guess what they said NO! as there had not been a recall. So they can release cars with parts that fail their own specifications and put them on vehicles with no recourse.

Drill a hole whose diameter is at least twice the width of the crack at both ends. Then use the superglue-baking soda method to seal up the crack. |
