A bit of research shows that the new LR compressor is the one to go for. |

The Hitachi is the genuine Land Rover item - is easy to rebuild rather than getting a new one.

If the Vin No. is prior to BA708255 it could well be a Hitachi, as according to L/R they did not start fitting the AMK till after that vin. number. On some MY12/13 cars they reverted back to the Hitachi and then back to the AMK again, just to confuse things. Drop the plastic cover and have a look, easy enough to tell the difference.

Sounds a bit like they just had a rummage in the parts bin at the factory to see what compressors they could find, Col! 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

Update: I’ve had the new AMK compressor fitted (software update included) and also had the air tank replaced. The tank was particularly corroded by the pipe fittings.
