On my first journey of the day, car starts fine.
But pop in for fuel or to a shop say and then when I go to start it cranks for a split second, kind of drops out for a split second then continues the process until fired up.
Not all the time but it's regular enough to warrant this post.

Iany ideas?

check the battery terminals are tight they might just be a little loose

Proper tight. Its weird, like a split second cut off before it cranks again to fully start.

could be loose wire on the starter or bad earth on it

Will check that at weekend. Is it accessible?

That would be difficult to test. Could try testing resistance when cold and then when hot. However, if it’s only a second or so it stops you may not see much on the meter. Could try making a heat shield for it or getting a heat shield blanket for it.
