I could do with turning the engine a few cycles by hand to eliminat engine seizure 100% really I think .

The starter won't run with it unbolted from the engine, as it isn't earthed.

If you’ve not done so already I’d have a look on YouTube for how to test a starter motor, it’s quite easy to test them, you should be able to test both the stater motor and solenoid to see if you have a problem with either, with regard to the broken connector if you’ve got your old starter I’d test that also, depending with what’s wrong with that it might be possible to swop the solenoids over, I'm not sure from your description but I’m guessing the broken connector is on the solenoid. |

No I've bost the bloody ring comnector on the lead . The lad who got his hands up there to get it back on said he needed to bend it so it was easier ......then snap.
