Why would it though ? The car is specifically designed to allow drivers to lower it with the ignition off ?

I do. On 98k miles and never an issue. As I say, I get the mechanical sympathy line but the handbook contradicts the argument. In fact the whole point of it having emergency ride height adjustment is to sort you out when you are grounded and stopped and the system is explicitly programmed to allow adjustment as stopped, as the handbook says, it goes out of its way to explicitly say you have 40 seconds to put it in access stopped with ignition off as long as you do not open driver door. If the car is designed to cope off road its hard to see how adjusting when stopped causes a problem and my own experience says not. |

I don't need to. The rrs is essentially a discovery in a posh frock, designed to manage off road and fairly extreme terrains. The idea it would break through raising or lowering when stopped is infinitessimally small.

I use the lower option while on the move before parking up. It just becomes second nature. 2010 3.0 TDV6 RRS Overfinch GTS
