Rear ACE Bar Leaking

Hey guys.

My 09 RRS has been diagnosed with a "slight" leak of the rear ACE bar.

From my research on here, its approx £1600 to replace.

Does anyone know if this is leak would be subject to an MOT fail?

I have only had the car for 11 weeks & in that time it has had the hand brake module, rear pads and discs and rear ARB bushes changed under warranty. I'm hoping that this too will be covered, but in the event its not, im wondering how important it really is.

As always, any advice would be greatly received!

Cheers

Dunno about MOT fail but you can buy the same rear ACE from a place in Wimbledon for about £790 - have a look on eBay.

I was then charged 5 hours labour (£460) to have it fitted by LRR in Charlton.

I trust that your garage didn't replace the rear ARBs already? They come with the kit. If you were under warranty for them, then surely you would be under warranty for this as well?

Hey Pufftmw....Well they did actually change the rear ARB bushes a few weeks a go under warranty but didn't mention the leak on the rear ACE bar. Not surprising really that they weren't forthcoming with any other issues on the car, so i took it to a local Land Rover specialist who gave the car a health check which is where it was spotted as the fluid level in the bar was <min.

Thanks for the heads-up about ebay tho, appreciate it.

How long have you owned the car ?

If they repaced the bushes under warranty they are almost certainly liable for the sway bar itself... Get back to them and make sure they do it. Thumbs Up

Yes it is an mot failure, My front one was leaking with clear signs of fluid loss, it failed the mot and was replaced, now 2 years latter my rear has signs of oil vapour which the mot guys noticed but said had it actually had oil droplets on it, they would of failed it.
