However, this does not work like in a petrol engine. Instead of replacing petrol entirely, LPG is being used as an additive to a diesel fuel that is still being injected into the cylinder in order to burn the mixture.

Such a conversion is used in large diesel (industrial) engines to cut down the costs and also in buses and heavy equipment. Makes absolutely no sense in a Range Rover, since it reduces diesel usage by 30% and the LPG installation is very complicated and expensive. Therefore it is only used in mine lorries, heavy construction equipment etc.
