Considering Lucas ones are around £65 on eBay they have to be worth ago.

Just bought a battery last week after starting issues when freezing. Went through same question. Cheap Lucas/ umbongo, or brand. Read up on here about all the funny faults that start to play up because of a bad battery so decided against it. Went for a Bosch S5 019 in the end £102 (steal) from euro car parts. Check their bay shop as its cheaper than their counter. A car that throws errors because of a simple break switch or cheap break bulbs, 70 quid vs 102 no contest for me. |

Can't vouch for the seller, but since the Tayna price has shot up, it looks like this is the place to go for the Exide: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exide-100Ah-900C...3641.l6368

There seams to be lots of evidence of non genuine alternators causing problems, but you never hear of this about batteries. |

BTW pointless putting the seat heater on if you aren't sitting on it as they have a sensor in them that won't switch them on until somebody is sat on them............. at least this is the case with L494RRS, both Evoques and the 2010 FFRR that I have run since my 2007MY TDv8 RRS. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yeh could be as the alternator was replaced before I bought it. Battery doesn't look that old but when under cover would look new. I suspect battery as I don't use It as much as I should and sometimes slow winding over. |

I don't think this is the case with the early models the OP has. I know this has been discussed before at length. I am kind to mine and only put the front screen on to start with. I only tend to use the low heat setting on the seat heater, even when its freezing. It's quick enough OP If you aren't using the car much, invest in a CTEK charger. |
