New to this site with an 07 TDV8 Sport Overfinch.
This is my first Sport having moved over from Audi RS so hopefully this site will keep me on the road.

Hi all. New to this forum and hope to be able to gain some useful info about my RRS supercharged. Which has a real annoying issue that i am struggling to get to the bottom of. In return I hope to be able to provide helpful advice as I am familiar with engines having rebuilt many over many years of fixing all manner of vehicles. I am good with spanners and hate having to deal with dealers. Having already read a number of posts as a guest I noticed that there is some excellent knowledge and experience on this site and would like to be part of it. I look forward to talking to you all in the future.

I'm new to this site and do not currently own a RRS!,
Hopefully that is about to change. I work as an Engineer for Ford at their R&E Centre
so I'm pretty hands on. I have worked with Land Rover a few times but I'm far from
familiar with the RRS.

3.6 v8 diesel, twin turbo of which you'll find many threads on here about 280 bhp come with uprated brembo brakes, dynamic response ( active ARB ) if an HST will have locking rear dif. If HSE then not unless fitted as an optional extra, other tan that same as the 2.7/3.0 cars.

Many thanks for your reply!, I'm about to try and search a 'what to out look for'
type of thread, as I'm possibly looking at an 08 HST at the weekend and like I said I really
know very little about them? any pointers you could suggest?

Danny, you need to be aware that not all HST's are what they seem. First, not all are TDV8's, second not all HST's are factory built as dealers could build you one from a kit, third if the car is a homemade or dealer built HST it won't have the eDiff. Oh and did I mention that you could also do a DIY HST............... from a kit bought on eBay. To tell a factory build one you need the VIN and to access JLR Topix website to obtain the full build spec. HST is no faster than a standard HSE or SE as it was basically just a body kit. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Many thanks, that was one of my quires!, I have seen many advertised as Factory HST's and did
wonder if their was a simple way to know? can you detect if you have an the eDiff?
Also colours from my little googling Grey whats the deal their seems to be 2 different shades or is that
dealers putting their own spin on it?

With the TDV8 the most important thing is seviceing. Regular oil and filter changes is critical, do mine every 5k and make sure both sump bungs are removed ! Listen for knocks and bangers from the sus they are a heavy car and go through sus bushes, not a deal breaker but ! Make sure the sus works along with low range. Check underneath as much as you can for damage from off-roading but remember this is what there made for so don't expect it to be squeaky clean , basically look with your eyes open. Again thanks for the reply, we have a Freelander1 TD4 (05) as bit of
a runaround back and forwards to riding stables and so on, so as you can
imagine I'm on first name terms with many part suppliers!
I will give it a good look over a listen out for anything that doesn't sound
to convincing!

Quick update,
I had a terrible weekend as I found out my poor old rescue Greyhound has bone cancer
and will need a visit to the Vet next week and will not come out.
I didn't view the car as it was a bit chaotic here I am however going to see it tomorrow
so fingers crossed!

Yes he's a lovely boy 13 years old now gone from Brindle to a silver stripey thing!
I'm absolutely gutted and not looking forward to next Thursday god knows how
I'm going to deal with my daughter?, She cant go to school knowing whats happening
but would hate for her to not get the opportunity to see him one last time.
