Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Not PHEV related Muddy but I had an LX470 (gussied up Land Cruiser) when I lived in the USA. It was the smoothest ride and the smoothest V8 I have ever driven. I bought it with 70,000 miles on it. It was a fantastic long distance car and was as at home driving 500 miles a day as it was pulling a boat up the ramp, and driving in the sand. It always detailed up like new, it felt indestructible. We drove all over the southern USA in it. I sold it and lost very little in depreciation. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Still got the PHEV SRE but nothing of interest to post - it's just doing what I want cheaply and giving no trouble Thumbs Up

I've ordered some winter tyres over weekend and will be seeing Tyrefitter (Andy) soon as they arrive to get them fitted if that's of interest Wink

BKHK - I bought the Landcruiser in 97 after test driving my dream vehicle at the time (Disco 1) - unfortunately the D1 shattered the fantasy compared to the Landcruiser and all the reports about Discovery being nicknamed "Recovery" in Oz filled me with dread Rolling Eyes

The Landcruiser was good enough but suffered from poor dealers and naff interior - replaced by a FL1 when I lost my job in 2000 and that was the start of my LR era and never thought I'd buy anything else Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Will be interesting to see if the cold weather effects the battery's charge, and mileage achieved

used to do my head in pulling out my camera whilst snowboarding and it dying a flat battery death due to the cold zapping the power

Never a truer word Thumbs Up

I doubt Muddy will be able to use the Air Con / Heating Big Cry as he will have to used the old internal combustion engine, this means petrol, now that will Censored up his money saving calculations. Whistle In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

The heating/air con like everything essential on the phev is electrical so no engine required Whistle

Climbed in the pre heated phev this morning and did my normal 11 mile trip with heated seat/steering wheel and lovely warm air coming out the vents from stop to start - no petrol used used despite the warning chime for low temp/ice Mr. Green

I admit the battery range has dropped to around 20 miles (costs me approx 90p to recharge) - still better than doing similar distance in RRS/winter @ £5.31/gallon when mpg also dropped like a stone Rolling Eyes

More worrying though - we've got a snow warning today/tomorrow here and my winter tyres have not arrived Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Had to fill our PHEV up with petrol after a month. just under 700 miles and about £15 in elec. - very cheap running about.

Pre-heating on a timer is a good feature which means the PHEV vanishes to the first one out in the morning.

^^^ Yup, we're very satisfied with it.

It may not have the 'olde' world and traditional interior of the JLR products but this has led to them becoming bloated and overweight in my opinion. The quality of the JLR products has not improved with pricing that is what the market will bear (and is more about status symbols). North of £80k is more than I'm prepared to stump up for a car to park on the drive and watch depreciate.

My first RR was a 1 years old 1972 2 door and since then I've had more than 12, but the RRS will be the last. Reliability, dealership arrogance being other major turn-offs.
