Front park aid inactive, no fault shows on the 'secret' menu

Hi all. I have an intermittent problem with my park aids. Previously the pdc would work or I'd just get one continuous been
With no flashing light .now it's switches between working ok and me getting front park aid inactive message.
I've gone into that secret menu to see if it throws up a fault code etc but it doesn't
Any ideas ? Tks
The car is an 09 RRS

Welcome. Smile

Forget the hidden menu - it won't show there. Activate the sensors and put your ear to each one (Edit: not forgetting to apply the handbrake of course Exclamation ) - if working, you'll here a clicking sound. If no dead sensors (or perhaps all), it'll most likely be a fault on the loom (unless it's the module) - which, given the intermittent nature, is where my bet goes. Hi there! So will the sensors tick as they should ( well the ones that are working)
Even when the park aid inactive message is displayed?
So you think likely the loom? Where can I get one from?
Don't seem to be any on eBay?
Many thanks..

The inactive message is a good point actually. I guess you'd need to try and listen to them before they shut off. Failing that, faults codes are triggered for any duff sensors.

If it's the loom, it should be possible to identify the problem section and repair it. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

hi
i listend to them before when i had the continuous tone and they all clicked..
think I'll take the bumpoer off and have a look, do i need to take a head light out to unplug the loom from the car?
without a diagnostic tool , is there a way i can see the fault codes?

Not sure if the RRS headlights make a difference (vs D3), but, yes, I assume the connector is still under the headlight. You need diagnostics to see the codes. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

A breaker, I guess, but I would think it unlikely that the existing loom can't be repaired. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Just make sure it's nice and waterproof (soldered and heat-shrunk etc.) so it doesn't happen again! Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
