Have had the Engine System Fault message flash up a few times now over the past week, switching the car off/on again seemed to sort it out for a few days / trips.

Can't get a diagnostics done until next Wednesday...so in the meantime I had a mechanic friend take a quick look to see if anything was obvious.

From the sound of it you have had the egr's blanked and they have removed the pipes and put the aluminum blanks in the throttle housing, if so just remove the blank and get a new o'ring for it and make sure you tighten the bolts up equally, as these are known to leak if not fitted correctly.
