The cover strips are available from dealers. I replaced them on a FL2 when I removed the roof rails to fit on replacement

The Weatherstrips as L/R call them are about £60 each with vat. Dan at Duckworth's can probably do better.

Thanks for the replies previous owner had lost the keys to the roof rails so I had to remove the lot in one go and was left with these 3 holes each side. However I have now discovered a code on the locks and ordered the nesseccery key to fit and will be removing the cross bars, not too sure how it will look with just the side runners in place but as said they dont stand too high so maybe not that noticible once the bars have been removed. Thanks again for the replies |

Cheers Col that looks ok they don't stand out too much at all. Nice motor by the way those are the wheels I want in 22" along with either the HST or the Autobiography kit. I have already booked in for some exhaust modifications on mine and I am looking at the mudtech 4x4 kit also. |

Hi Mate, My weather strips are the original ones fitted to the RRS and has black grommits in the holes from the factory. i removed one recently to have a look and they push directly into the bolt holes in the roof. Apparently some RRs had the holes from new and other had to drill the holes in order to fit their roof rails etc.

Ok that's good to know as if I do decide to remove the side bars I can just get some rubber gromits instead of buying 2 new running strips, I would imagine they need to be ones that either go in to or over the screw points on the roof to hold them in place. Thanks for that |

When the roof rails are fitted you need to increase the size of the hole in the strip to 19mm in diameter. Hence if you remove the rail the original "Fir Trees" will not retain the strip as the head is to small for the hole so you would need new "Fir Trees" with a head diameter of at least 25mm to retain the strips simply putting a grommet in may well fill the hole but will not retain the strip.
