Personally I don't know why you would want it off - there is a fair amount of info on it and its not intrusive...but all you can do is turn the screen off using the button on the main home screen Mike

yes its a very good question... usually the first thing i do after starting is turn the screen off |

I don't have an answer either - but agree it would be useful! I find, even on min brightness, the screen is a bit bright driving on unlit country lanes where you need all the night visibility you can get!

Again MY14 on the accept screen has now gone (well its automatic at the very start) and there is no key.

I thought all automatics required the foot on the brake o move out of park? pretty much all the ones I have driven has been the same. 2007 TDV8 RR Sport HSE

Yes in part its to enable the solenoid to release to allow the gear change Mike

Foot on the brake to get out of Park was introduced around 2004 by LR IIRC. It was intended as a safety measure to avoid unintentional reversing (if the handbrake was not on or the engine was revved) or movement on accidental selection of a gear. It is now an integral part of stop/start systems. |
