Well seeing as my battery decided to go flat I still haven't had chance to sort this wee problem out, but I defiantly won't be joining the 2 wires together Laughing

Do that, and you will never need to worry about pad wear again.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

In my defence, this is the first car I've owned with brake pad sensors, so I'm used to checking the wear myself. In the same way, I don't wait until the 'low oil light' comes on to warn me the oil's running low, I check that myself too.

I always thought that if the low level light came on then it's a bit to late, (this is coming from my zed cars) that if light comes on then the oil is empty not low, thus causing more damage. Surly oil should be checked on a weekly basis and not assume the waring light will come on. Thumbs Up

@steve-r

It sounds like you have lost the little brass/copper spring that holds the sensor in the pad if its a loose fit in it. They sometimes spring out and you don't notice.

Flack Thumbs Up

Is the spring a separate part then? i assume this doesn't come with the new sensor? if not then oh Censored Sad

I cant say i noticed any kind of spring fitting, but then again wasn't really looking for any thing like that.
