United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

Mine started doing this over the weekend too! Just after the car had been in the dealers for a warranty repair on the front driver side Driveshaft!! Can't possibly imagine the audio issue is related to the work so have put it down to coincidence.
I'll be sending my Service Manager a link to this topic so he can see i'm not going mad.

Hi Ady, I'm in no way mechanically minded but after feeling a knocking noise coming from the front near side wheels, I reported it as a "driving over cats eyes" sensation - something unexpected on a new car!

Apparently, a clip on the drivers side driveshaft where it enters the transfer case had broken and needed replacing.

Perhaps my mention of warranty repair was overkill as it was probably more of a goodwill repair!

I would definitely call it a warranty repair not goodwill as it is well in the 3 year warranty Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Good point Muddywheels. They also replaced the perspex infront of the instrument dials as they appeared to have fingerprints inside the instrument cluster!!!! - That was replaced but when the technicians replaced the dashboard, they didn't marry all the clips and as a result I have a wonky dash (booked in for a fix)

Is it just me or when you spend 50, 60, 70k on a car the service tends to be a little....lackadaisical

Never have all this with my Smart Car! Laughing

ETA: the fact this has just started to many of us (think it may have been last Wednesday that it started) I wonder whether here has been a change to some transmission (TMC, 4G).

Vodafone's and O2's 4G services went live last Thursday...

Current thinking it is either the increase in 4G, or the significant solar activity we've had in the past week or so. The problem may be reducing in frequency (only happened twice on the way home) so second may be favourite.

Anyone outside of the UK having the problem?

Looking around the forums this is now a widespread issue that LR are aware of. A workaround has been suggested in that you select a country other than the UK in the digital TV settings and this should stop it happening. Sorry no info on what to do if you don't have the tuner. If you have a TV you will loose this function unless you select one of the presets. It would appear the issue is linked to the DVB/DAB module.

This is happening to me on "plugged in" iPod mode too....surely that cannot be related to 4G interference!?
