2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

Ok so not an air lock, they have now removed all the interior and carpets and checked all the cabling and wiring as well as taken the fuel tank out, but no faults found.

What the hell can it be, its madness......

Hope they find out soon - must be costing you a fortune Shocked

I find it incredible reading posts like yours that when these "premium" vehicles "engineered for optimum performance" go wrong the Lr "trained technicians" seem to be at a loss how to fix them Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think. like many professions, no-one wants to give advice in fear on being on the end of litigation when its the wrong decision.

So your LR technician will just report what the diagnostics register; just like those telephone support staff on the end of the Freephone help desk numbers and work for any organisation "its the system Sir I can't change it..." Big Cry

Just think that with most RRS's coming in at £75k or more no dealer will go out on a limb when problems occur we'd better hope that the reliability has been hiked as high as the price !

That's what Ive told the garage I purchased it from, but its madness that Land Rover cannot rectify the fault and cant even diagnose it.

I have never in my life of car ownership know an issue like this.

The legal aspect will be considered, as I have had the car 7 months although this fault was there pretty much from the start but has taken so long to get it into be looked at, having spent time in the garage already for a replacement turbo initially, then diagnosed my range rover and now having been in the garage just over a month also trying to be sorted out.

Did they replace the fuel pressure sensor in the end? Also, it would help if you could get the fault codes from the technicians & let us know them. Have they ruled out the EGR valves or is it definitely low fuel pressure? 2006 TDV6 SE, Zermatt Silver

The fault code related to something called Fuel Deviation. It seems to happen intermittently and also under load, as it seems ok on a ramp running the car.

Not sure on the fuel sensor, I will check on that one.

EGR Valves were replaced literally maybe 1000 miles ago.

Checked, Fuel Pressure Sensor has been replaced also, checking on the actual fault code but am sure he said it was fuel deviation. They have checked the fuel pressures as there is a drop off 5 bar to 2 bar or something similar, not 100% sure, but it should be higher and it drops low.

All fuel lines checked and cleaned, tanks been out, both pumps replaced, electrics have been checked and tested by a Range Rover tech guy.

The warning code maybe p2290-00 but he is double checking in the morning for me to confirm, but is sure that was it off the top of his head.

P229000 - Injector Control Pressure Too Low

Probable Causes:

• Fuel pressure control valve (FPCV) maximum limit reached
• Fuel injector control pressure too low
• Fuel line leak
• Fuel filter/system restriction
• FPCV circuit fault
• FPCV failure
• Fuel pump module circuit short circuit to ground
• Fuel pump module failure
• Fuel injection pump failure

What to do:

Check the fuel pressure.
Check the fuel lines for leaks/damage.
Check for a blocked/restricted fuel filter.
Check the fuel pump module circuits.
Check the FPCV circuits.
Check the fuel injection pump. Malaysia Boleh!

If you take your car to a garage to be fixed and they change a part that didn't need changing because they got it wrong why should you have to pay for it??

When they finally find the problem and fix it then you pay just for that bit.

You are paying for there training 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver
