Congrats on the purchase. Thumbs Up

You will quickly catch the RRS modding bug Laughing

Since I bought mine I have fitted 2010 rear lights, clear side repeaters, changed all bulbs to LED, fitted genuine 2010 supercharged wheels with RR centre caps, supercharged grille. Also I have now had my RRS fully colour coded including handles and mirrors, should be getting it back by tomorrow, can't wait to see it. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Yes Reid, get ready to catch the Chavohalforditis bug and you will be tempted to add all sorts of tasteless modifications which cheapen an otherwise lovely car.

The bug seems to only really affect RRS owners in ye olde England and Scotchland. International members don't deem to catch it as much. Although symptoms seem mild at first, they are usually most acutely felt in the wallet come re sale time. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Well at moment the exhaust tips and grill first on list, would love to put 22 wheels on but after reading it spoils the ride will leave 20"s on as roads up here are rather s Censored .lol..As for remap SRE am more than happy with the power and torque in the v8 as it is, overtaking effortless but never say never..Will get photos up as soon as I get chance to give it a wash, weather crap at moment...

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
A poster who claims an X5 is a good "onroad" SUV then goes on about chaving a Sport in the same post really needs to read the manual......... How to make friends and then kick them in the nutz.
Nice work Thumbs Up Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

As covered in lots of posts, there is no better place to be than in the seat of a fully working Sport and truly hope you enjoy the car, as they say over the shuck, health to enjoy! Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Congratulations and welcome to the joys of TDV8 ownership. At the risk of sounding like a BOF I'd strongly advise regardless of service history your first job should be to change all the fluids in the diffs, transmission, including transfer box and engine with the correct specification and change all the filters with LR sourced items. Check that any updates like the updated front diff breather have been done. Clean the MAP and MAF sensors to optimise running and possibly put some Miller's eco boost cleaner through the tank. Run it only on premium diesels like BP Ultimate or at least make sure that one in three tankfuls is the premium stuff.
Unless the tyres are the correct specification have plenty of tread left and are wearing evenly fit four new tyres and have a four wheel alignment carried out by someone who understands what Tight Tolerance Mode is.
Don't see the point in spending £500 on a remap that gives you slightly more power when 99% of the time you won't even use the power you already have. Especially when you consider that remapping takes the engine that bit closer to edges of the safety envelope.

Better put my hard hat on now as there are a lot of contributors to the forum who are evangelical about mapping Rolling with laughter

Bolt on bits of bling if you really must (sigh) but make sure the car is tip top mechanically first Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

The rest of the world has access to mods that are useful e.g. rock sliders, decent underbody protection etc. The UK market doesn't appear to exist for these, sadly. Presumably this is because the rest of the world uses a 4x4 for off-roading rather than the peculiar UK taste for modding and polishing.

I have been unable to find anyone in the UK that makes sliders or underbody protection at reasonable cost - some stuff can be imported but at silly money. I'd like to take mine off road a bit more don't want to rip bits off doing it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Simple from Zomerzet (you seem to substitute s with a z, maybe its a local thing?)

My X5 is bog standard with no mods (it doesn't need them). Maybe you are one of those who thinks that the RRS has "class" and that the X5 has inherent Chav qualities? Whatever...

The X5 4.0D is pretty handy on road, useless off road of course. The RRS is a great looking car when standard. But with over colour coding, silly big wheels and fake exhaust tips, they look crap.

As for winning friends, I couldn't care less. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
