Millers Diesel Power Ecomax

Well i have now run this for just over 1000 miles and finished the bottle and i have to report......................nothing Twisted Evil
No increase in MPG, no noticable difference in pulling power or performance, and no decrese in black smoke. So i decided to clean the MAP sensers as I have seen some very gunged up pictures of them on here. However they are both spotless, so I am at a loss.
My driving is a mixture of city driving and motorway runs at around 70 mph, I used to average 23.1 before adding the additive, and after, I still get 23.1.
Unless it is a very good marketing campaign, then what is the point ?

Maybe the cleanliness is a result of the cleaner/additive? I would see that as a benefit?

surprised there isn't a significant improvement... Is anything smoother?

car might have been good to begin with... Mike

It certainly doesnt feel any smoother,as it is very smooth anyway, and quiet. so that is my conculsion also, that the car was very well maintained and serviced before i bought it, it had 79,000 on the clock, its now has 94,000
So it may benefit older vehicles, or ones with a suspect history, but for me nothing, so that must be a good thing, right Laughing 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

Aren't you the lucky one Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up
I use Millers in my old Quattro as octane booster and lead substitute and it works well, but have to say am a sceptic when it comes to fuel additives generally. Also use Millers oils in our Minis and wouldn't use anything else.
It may be worth checking that fuel filter is fresh. Seeing increasingly dirty and clogged up filters of late which makes me wonder where the current batch of diesel is coming from. Our Tdi golf started smoking couple of months after a service, and investigation of filter and change stopped the smoking and increased mpg back to 64 from 55. Whistle
The filter was clogged and black. Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Good point about the fuel filter, however I only had mine changed at the service back in March 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

try a combination of Forte diesel treatment and a tank or half of bp ultimate. Some years ago i had a bmw that was running
really rough specially when on tick over. Tried this mix and worked a treat ran smoother than i had ever seen it. Ever since then i have only used Forte diesel treatment as a additive or a number of products from there range as they never cease to amaze.

I use the fuel and injector cleaner in all our cars except the sport

Theory on the other ones, prevention is better than cure and if it keeps the car cleaner inside - then that has to be good.

I dont use it on the sport because im sure they say you shouldnt, but its new so its not the same issue Mike

Shakeapaw, Is the 23.1 mpg a calculated figure or the dash computer? If the latter when did you last reset it? An average calculated mpg of about 23 is what I see from my TDV8 over a mix of short hops and the odd long trip. On a long trip it's about 26.5 but that's calculated.

Black smoke suggests you have a fuelling issue? Maybe a diagnostic session would pick up something? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Another question worth asking, is the smoke trail all the time? I know vehicles that have been "chipped" tend to smoke on hard acceleration and from standstill if booted. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
