Is the transfer box a servicable item?

Or more specifically, is the actuator replacable on it's own and is it a full strip-down job on the transfer box to replace it?

Looks like the actuator can be changed, it's an external part. You may still have to drop the transfer box though, no idea if the actuator is accessible with the box in situ.

The actuator can be replaced, but needs to be calibrated using a the correct diagnostic machine.

Before jumping to that though, check the transfer case ECU for water ingress and corrosion. Common issue with these cars
