It is expensive I agree but now I've seen the installation details - thanks to mse - I don't feel quite so bad.
It costs to show off I suppose.

No problem

There is a bit of wiring - its certainly not plug and play just behind the bumper! Mike

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I drive everywhere with lights on as i find it safer. i have had many a motorway speeder attempt to pull out on me only to move back instantly when he seees my lights. I had LR programme my 2010 MY HSE to Scandanavian node so that my LED and Headlights come on with ignition. I also set the lights switch to Auto.

Lights on is an old habit from my biking days and i wouldn't change it, saved my arse on numerous occasions. in fact, I love it when someone coming the other way flashes me for lights on. I'm happy with that as it means he's seen me.

See and be Seen, that smy motto! Very Happy RRS 2010

All your saying is people with poor road craft, failing to undertake even the most simple of manoeuvres before you get into any advanced driving skill.

Mirror (look!!), signal, manoeuvre.

The other element of that is where you Anticipate the idiot about to pull out.

Sorry - those stupid lights still have no place on the road - in fact i have been dazzled by them to the point i would argue they are a hazard Mike

I also was disappointed that my new rrs AB didn't have day time running lights. I didn't realise they were an optional extra although not sure if I'd pay best part of £500 for them. Shame really because LR really should have them as standard. Jaguar XKR Convertible

I have taken part in many advanced driving courses over the years, on both motorbikes and cars. I have come to realise that the vast majority of drivers have poor roadcraft.

However, I cannot do much about their driving skills, but I can and will continue to protect myself and my passengers by driving with my lights ON thanks Wink RRS 2010

many moons ago when i was about 19/20 i was waiting at a junction at dusk, what i thought was a car in the distance, was in fact a motorbike about 100 yards away and closing fast when i pulled out in front of him, both he and i had brown pants after that, but it taught me a valuble lesson!
i also have a bike licence, and would always ride with the lights on, but i think if there are more DRLs out there bikes will become invisible again, and many more car drivers will take a chance as they will not be sure if it is a car far away or a bike closer!

cheers

Car is back with the dealer today to have the job finished - I hope.
Hopefully I'll soon be dazzling all in front of me.
School holidays finish this week up here so its back to papa duties and I apparently need to be 'cred' for that
