Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bali Blue
Daytime Running Lights.

Decides to have these fitted (Land Rover Kit VPLSV0064) by local main dealer. Was in for a day but they failed to complete the installation of the kit .. It needs to go back in for wiring.
The ‘story’ was that the kit has no easy installation templates and the car is not pre – modified for the LED’s. the ‘technicians’ only have drawings to work to. They blame LR.
Anyone got any experience of fitting these accessories.
I can’t believe it takes two days to remove the bumper, mark and drill a few holes, run a cable and refit the bumper. Anybody got details of what is actually required, drawings etc. I would be most interested. LR Customer Care say it is ‘listed’ as a two hour task.
The cost is not an issue, is fixed price. It’s just the annoyance of the extra day.
Comments welcome.
Hugh

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

It sounds like yours is the first one they have done, as these are fairly new to the sport and usually done at the factory during build,

I wanted DRL's and thought the signature lights on the RRS HSE were the same as the D4 HSE, but very disappointed to find they only come on with the side lights and aren't a DRL!
Do you mind saying how much this cost for the parts and fitting from your dealer. I have a MY12 HSE and considering a couple of extra things, the DRL's and exhaust tips.
Cheers Thumbs Up

There are full instructions for fitting this kit on TOPIx - its involved i will say, but there are definitely instructions showing everything including where the fit and what to cut.

I will have to at this point say my usual - WHY anyone would want these stupid lights on when the SUN, last time i checked, is really bright and when its not...you have head lights - is beyond me. Each to their own, but DRL's are possibly the single most stupid thing on the road today...if you cant see the car you shouldnt be driving:

I can't dissagree with mse's comments but in my defence I offer:
1) I'm in Scotlsand - we have Scotch Mist.
2) My Grandson likes them and says they are 'cred' - whatever that means but is required for school runs apparently.
3) Retired now and need something to complain about.
Still love the car though. 6 Month old and still can't stop driving it.

I was quoted £625 Red One. However I feel a negotiation comming on.
For the record the lights are fitted just not yet wired.
The installation so far is excellent. and - to me- looks good.

Your analogy doesn't work in all cases though, look at Revere, they charge you all that money and people still buy it Whistle Rolling with laughter ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
