and to lower the tone right back down Thumbs Up

As a pilot the seen and be seen thing ive heard before and I practice it save for the landing lights as they are on the undercarriage which is retracted on most planes I fly - but then the anti-cols and strobes are reasonably effective - nav lights only work at night when its legal to run them

And as an advanced and pursuit trained driver ive also learnt that no light in the world will make you and more visible or replaces the need for observation skills and anticipations skills

Plus you only notice everyone (my earlier point) because there arent many of them, so when every car has them you will probably notice only the ones that dont...plus im a reasonably observant person so i notice things. Whistle

Finally i hear that it might not be a done deal they are all getting them or that you have to run with them on...just have the option to have them. Mike

Beginning to wish I'd never mentioned it now.
But back to the original point. I now have working DRL.
I like them. Don't know why. I just do.
According to the dealer it is the same as fitted as standard to the Scandinavian models.
Good motoring all.
P.S. you should see me comming - I have DRL's. 'Dazzling'

I drive everywhere with lights on as i find it safer. i have had many a motorway speeder attempt to pull out on me only to move back instantly when he seees my lights. I had LR programme my 2010 MY HSE to Scandanavian node so that my LED and Headlights come on with ignition. I also set the lights switch to Auto.

Lights on is an old habit from my biking days and i wouldn't change it, saved my arse on numerous occasions. in fact, I love it when someone coming the other way flashes me for lights on. I'm happy with that as it means he's seen me.

See and be Seen, that smy motto! Very Happy

Out of interest, was this a complicated (in other words, expensive!) upgrade?

Cheers

If it is the Scandinavian DRL then it is as expensive as going to nearest dealer and ask them to turn it on... £50 perhaps?

Go to 1:28 in my short clip. This is in the middle of the day. It is good sight. No fog, no snow in the air. Tell me if you notice the car..

This is the VERY southern tip of Sweden, probably equivalent to somewhere in Scotland. Less sheep shaggers though... RRS 2010 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
