So, I've sold my RRS sport S/C today and taken a deposit off the new owner.

As I'm dropping it to them in the morning, out of courtesy I took it for one last clean and went for the full body and engine bay clean. The muppet in the car wash has gone mad with his Jet hose and I've gone to drive off and have Error messages galore.

First one that comes up is "special programs off" Followed by "System Fault Special programs not Available" Basically every terrain setting is inactive.

Clearly there is water in the electrics. I can't take it to the new owner like this and the Car wash are defecting any responsibility for it. Its 11PM in Dubai and I'm dropping it with the new owner at 9AM in the morning.

I've driven it for about 20 miles to see if it dries out and nothing!

WTF am I gonna do? What would I need to remove and dry? Ive tried compressed Air but don't even know where to start. Would hard reset work?

I was just trying to send her off to the new owner sparkling and this has jepordised the whole thing!

Can anyone advise/help?

ok, I would wait until the morning and see if it resets itself - I think it will. If that fails, then look to disconnect the battery. But i think overnight should cure it.

i remember once getting my car cleaned and the EGR valves happend to go as I drove off, and boy was I off, but just one of those things.

Wait til the morning and see what happens. I think it will be ok

this exact thing happened to me on the 57 plater and I fixed it by getting it HOT - took it for a big run up the motorway at, let's say, speed for more than an hour. That fixed most of the faults but it did take a few days for all of them to clear. Given you're in Dubai where the ambient temperature is much higher I suspect you may have a quicker time of it. ============

You are best of starting with the module behind the battery . You need to remove the battery and then the module (which is fixed to the front of the main ECU )

the outer ali cover needs to be taken off and you will find all the circuits to be damp . Spray with some electrical cleaner / wd40 and dry it out with a hair dryer

Cheers Wiggs, is there anything else I should look out for with re-connecting the battery? I've just been reading that on older models you have to turn the steering wheel full lock either way on first start up to set the suspension up, remove a earth from the bulkhead for 20 mins, reset the radio etc.. This could get messy. I'll try it again in an hour or so when Leeds have whooped Arsenal and is its still the same I'll drive it for an hour or so, failing that I'll get handy with the spanners, I'd rather not as I tend to things up quite easily.

What a time for this to happen, I was debating weather to even clean it..

Technically 06 but it's registered as a 08 as it was shipped then sat here for 18 months before it was bought.
