Buying a 3.6 TDV8, what to watch out for?

Hello good people,

I am in the market for a used 3.6 TDV8, 2007 – 2009 model. Apart from the usual stuff one looks out for when buying a used a car, what are the problematic things specific to the aforementioned model that I should be aware off? Many thanks

Nothing to watch out for, just a good rock solid warranty.

Enjoy yourself. 10 RRS HSE TDV8 --- No complaints so far
57 RRS HSE TDV8 --- Great Car. Heated Windscreen & Brake Module both replaced under warranty.
10 months great driving, before I couldn't do without the new interior

Higher insurance permium than the V6 Whistle Less MPG than the V6 Whistle More expensive servicing costs than the V6 Whistle An alternator thats not suitable for the V8 often failing Whistle Depreciation is worse than the V6, but thats great if you are buying a V8 Thumbs Up Plus all of the above comments Laughing

Showing your naivety again princess..... Rolling Eyes Its sad but true % depreciation on a TDV8 is much greater than that of a TDV6,
TDV8 was the only RRS to drop in price in this months guide (-£1100) where as the 3.0 TDV6 went up in the guide (+£725) and 4.2 Supercharged remained the same.

Anyway lets keep this on topic..... This is about what to look out for when buying a 3.6 Thumbs Up

Your comparing the TDV8 to the newer V6 the OP is after an 07-09 plate.... so check the value of a 2.7 TDV6 and then we will have the facts! TBH I don't care about the value as I have had a range of cars etc and I have never cared about depreciation costs.... had an M5 before the TDV8 and the depreciation on that was fooking nuts Censored ... Bow down but what the heck we only live once!!! or if we live again I will be a poor fooker LOL

If this is what happens in Lincolnshire guess where I'm moving too? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.
