Instead of discussing it, why not just bloody do it, i mean lets face it, most people do 80mph on the motorway already in the right conditions. |

My suggestion would be, do a 80mph trial on a few four lane motorways for lets say six months but don't allow hgv's to used the third lane because the closing speed of a 80mph car to a 56 mpg hgv may be too much for inexperienced drivers and just see how it goes, then make an assessment. But introduce motorway driving as part of the driving test, but again only being allowed to use the two nearside lanes. Well thats my contribution to the government debate |

I don't think it will make a change to my driving, i'll still plod along at 70-80, gone are my days of hunting reps in BMW's in the fast lane |

Funny how the absolutely minority always seem to come to the forefront on these issues, there was some old duffer on CombineHarvester FM this morning saying it will increase accidents and increase Co2 emissions.........on the latter, so F g what, its meaningless anyway as for the former, what utter rubbish, most people are doing 80-90 anyway these days, this is just making it legal, removing the current technicality of inaccuracy on the speedo
