done chamonix - too many buses

Did Morzine/Avoriaz thats a good area

Did Merribel last time i went abroad, which i quite liked the slopes for snowboarding, whilst there I like the Courchivelle (sp?) 1664 (or what ever number it has after it) area too

Missed out last year myself with house moving, and this year it doesn't sound like the lads are going, so might be heading up to scotland for a few days, or a quick week away christmas/new year with the brother and his wife

Hey Nathan

Im in the same boat as you... Im looking to find somewhere new this year. Pref somewhere I can drive to as I want to take my sport to play out. But not too scarey as theyll just be me and the cub.

But this time id like to get some snow driving lessons off someone, (me and my dad ended up falling out last time- "gob on legs and no it all finished it off for me).

So any advice would be appreciated.

Will you be driving there Nathan ?

Yes definately be up for it, could all get a chalet organised

I'm easy where we go as long as i have powder to play with!

Does foxcub board?

I suppose I should start a new poll tomorrow to gauge some interest and invite everyone on here to the "2012 RRS forum snow trip"

P.s when can I pop up for some detailing lessons!
Thumbs Up

The cub hasnt boarded but can ski.

Nathan i think that sounds a great idea on the group trip. We all set off in our cars to the snow YEAH

Im now a "guest"member of a supercar club and they organise allsorts of outings and rallys even trips abroad.

Im guessing that peoples WAGS would be invited too, or not?

Why go anywhere? Just hang around where you are for another couple of months and the snow will come to you. Less miles and home to a nice warm house at the end of the day's snow activities. Personally, I wouldn't go to the bottom of my back yard to see snow.....just as well really because we don't get it down here near the ocean.

Events - New Thread - Type your blurb - scroll down - Poll or signup options at bottom Thumbs Up

Might be better doing a signup, using a few options to see who wants to drive, fly, etc and then you can gauge what where and how long at a later date

Scotland

France -Avoriaz - If you want a huge range of skiing - if you're brave enough try "The Wall", Once formed part of the world cup downhill course - I did it in my younger (I'm indistructable) days when I was a complete speed freak and it still scared the living heebies out of me Shocked

Andorra - Soldeau / El Tarter , a hidden gem of a wee resort. Much more of a relaxed apres ski and some lovely skiing. Not as big a ski area as some but still great for a weeks holiday. Added benefit of probably the best ski school in Europe (no matter what level you are, Novice - Elite). Also the whole country is duty free Thumbs Up
One downside is that it is in the Pyranees and therefore doesn't have the altitude of the Alps so can sometimes suffer from snowfall issues early & late in the season.

Austria - Anywhere around St Anton area - Beautiful wide open pistes and loads of linked ski areas. Thumbs Up

Or as Chris mc said, Glenshee Thumbs Up I always remember an Aussie Ski Guide in Avoriaz asking where we did our Skiing at home and when I said Glenshee he just smiled and said "Yeah mate..... that place is awesome.. the runs might be short but jeez.. the weather!! ... If you can Ski there then you can Ski anywhere!!" Laughing 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
