She is coming on Friday

Hi All

I have just joined here and I am really glad to see a forum dedicated to the RRS. I have had a couple of Rangies (P38) over the last few years but then spent a short while with Mr. Toyota's Landcrusers (which drive like trucks) before going back to having a couple of BMW Tourings in succession with an old Jeep Wrangler for boat towing and utility duties. Lifestyle and home parking real estate, however, dictate that I need to go back to one car.

I like BMW so was fixed on an X5d until I test drove an RRS. The memories of the view over the front of that trademark squared bonnet coupled with the massively different driving dynamics.....well....I was hooked again.

So, she is coming on Friday, fresh off the boat. She is a Stornoway Grey TDV6, March 2008 build with roof and Towpack and a few other small treats. I hope it will be love.....the test drive certainly was.

I intend to be a regular here, you guys have a lot of useful knowledge and I enjoy hanging around.

Best from Melbourne

No, I don't live in Batman Avenue although very close actually! I can't afford a new Ferrari anyway and neither can my Dad! He is too old to drive one anyway and has an FFRR but he lives over there in blighty with some of you blokes.

Apologies about your mis interpretation of my thread. Just put it down to my excitement and enthusiasm about my new RRS. I referred to it as she because I hope the relationship will be a good one...the damned things are as expensive as a wife here in Oz.

Ultima

Cheers, it will be an interesting change from the BMW Touring.

Mental note to self.....forgot to measure courtyard in city house.....hope it fits otherwise may need a new wife as well!!

Hi Tastech

I have only been waiting a couple of weeks.

I was going to buy one from dealer "stock" but the one I looked at didn't have a sunroof which I wanted. The dealer mentioned that they had one in Stornoway with the right spec landing on April 30th so I agreed to take it.

Is yours a TDV6? My dealer said that sales had slowed a little since the last rate rise and was very keen to do a deal. I am very happy with driveaway the deal I got from them.
