United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black
Embarrased to ask this question ......... but

I noticed last night that when I drove into my street, a light seemed to flash on the side I was indicating. Only happened once then stopped. Obviously intrigued at this I did the same again when sat on the drive and hey presto - I have an orange and a White light that flashes! I had a look at the headlight unit and there is a halogen bulb sitting there that seems to be the culprit.

When I look in the manual I see AFS and cornering lamps mentioned. Are these one and the same thing? How do I see the advantage of the cornering lamp if it only flashes for a second when the indicator is flashing?

OK.....I expect a series of replies stating something blindingly obvious that I have clearly missed in the manual Embarassed

Thanks all RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

The cornering lamp should stay on, until the indicator is cancelled.

So if the cornering lamp flashed on once & then went out there might be a loose connection, or the bulb isn’t in it’s holder correctly.

Have you checked out the other side, to see what that is doing ??

The cornering lamps only work whilst indicating and travelling below 22mph. They are designed to light up the apex of the corner you are turning into.

They should stay on until you cancel the indicator.

Did you say that the light was flashing with the indicator? If so this is wrong, it should be a constant light. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. thanks - both behave the same, only flash once. Is it dependent on wheel orientation as well, or just the indicator? RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

No, wheel orientation has no bearing on it, just indicator & road speed.

If both behave the same maybe a fault in the control module somewhere (presuming there's a central lighting module).

If you have the Adaptive lights and you are turning, the corner lights will come on without the indicator being on Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

So what about the flashing - does that not still indicate abnormal behaviour? Confused
