ace pipe leak

its the dreaded ace pipe leak Sad But the only saving grace is it seems at a junction? So I assume I can just replace the junction and don't need to drop £1600 quid on it. But I wondered if my reasoning above is right? Also if the cars off and. take the junction off will it just start throwing power steering oil everywhere?

Cheers

i dont wanna replace the pipes, i mean they are corroded and it will be a ballache when they go. but for now, the only thing thats leaking is the actual junction at the front right of the tyre, does that mean i can just change the junction connector and be on my way? if i whack it open is it going to start spewing a ton of oil everywhere from built up pressure or can it be a 15 min jobo

It sounds like you’re referring to the section that changes from steel pipe to rubber pipe. If so, then that’s not available as a separate part from JLR. What you could do is take it to an agricultural supplier and ask them to make up a new section but you may have to remove the part for measurements. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

When you buy the pipe set, they all come pre clamped, and with the rubber hose,if the pipe has rusted through ,i'd just swap the lot,it will save you in the long run.Are you doing it yourself ?

I replaced my front pipes without taking the body off but had to cut the pipes in to half to fit. Another forum member managed it without cutting them in half but I just didn’t have the space to manage it (2012MY). The pipes I think were £260, oil was about £30, high pressure stainless unions were £8, the body fitting I had to replace (I had to cut it off) and I think that was £8 and I then also put a new filter in a few days later (britpart).

ta, i'll start scouting the parts, am in Leeds so agricultural stores are hard to come by here Razz i might even dump some some power steering stop leak and top the sucker up on the mean time so the pump doesn't seize.

My pipes failed around the rubber body fixing likely due to salt water corrosion under the clamp part. I now wipe the pipes down with oil every so often to try and keep the corrosion down. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
