Don't know if this is expected, but if someone is on the passenger seat there

On my 2005 there is a light for the passenger seatbelt which activates when there is someone on the seat (with an audible alert) and goes out once the seatbelt is fastened.

The actual sensor is stuck to the foam seat cushion, to get to it you would need to remove the leather seat cover the same as if you were going to renew the heated seat element as it's actually stuck under that. If you look under the rear of the seat from the rear passengers footwell you will see the wiring for it clipped to the seat base, might be worth checking the electrical connections there.

Hi, I did mislead you a little bit there it was a little while ago I changed one, meant to say check the wiring for damage where it comes through the metal seat pan, the actual connector is at the front of the seat.
