Recons are not the best, I'll only fit a brand new OEM unit, as that's the only way the quality of the parts is guaranteed

Did you change the oil feed pipes, which cool the turbo, when you fitted the new ones? If you fail to let the turbos cool for a couple of minutes after a run the oil carbonises and blocks the pipes, which probably explains why the originals failed in the first place.

Yeah I was going to say, you should change the oil feed pipe and return pipe.
Would be silly not to, you don't want a 3rd failure

All the pipes were throughly cleaned and checked, garage saying that some micro chamber in the block could of blocked causing it to starve the turbo of oil , ever heard of this ??

The saying now to replace engine think that’s a bit extreme tbh

Surely the garage you used guarentee their work? That being the case it's down to them. Unless they advised changing items which you declined. Bet they change their minds about changing the engine.

It's down to the garage to sort it out. They fitted the turbos that then failed. Their problem. I'd perhaps be inclined to suggest they fit new turbos and then you'd pay the difference between the new and reconditioned item price. That would be fair and you'd end up with decent turbos with a year's warranty. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
