Is it the one piece powered tailgate? as I assume you have checked Fuse No. 15 in engine bay fuse box.

Have you tried unlocking on the fob and manually lifting? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Probably a strut fail but check the fuse to be sure. Can’t remember which it is (check Cols post above) but it’s called power tail gate so should be easy to spot. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

It might be very relevant that the tailgate open/close failure under power happened when I disconnected the battery to sort out my glowplug warning light issue.

The 2 struts are the powered parts that lift the tail. Did you check the fuse? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Just noticed you say powered opening and closing. The original only power closed from the button, is that what you mean or has it got aftermarket kit fitted which allows closure off the fob? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Look in the fuse box for a system that you don’t have as the fuse box comes with all fuses fitted regardless of options. Things like RSE, cruise, fridge etc. That you may not have serve as emergency spares.
