United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey
The long road round-Back in a RRS SC AB

Hi All,

I'm no longer a regular poster on the forums simply because I have very little time these days, but many of you might know me from this forum, the FFRR and Def2 forums.

I joined the RRS forum when it was brand new, and I was lucky enough to have bought the brand new 2005 Supercharged model just after it was featured on Top Gear against the tank.

Since then, I moved to the FFRR, and had 2 diesel L322s, 2 Defenders, 1 supercharged L322 and then a beautiful L405 lastly (see my For Sale thread for that one - stunning).

Anyway, I am back to a Sport and another Supercharged. Not brand new this time but I absolutely LOVE the performance and the noise again.

I have a lot less toys than before, no surround cameras, soft close doors, electric steps, RSE, dual view screen, massage seats etc but it's still a lovely spec Autobiography 510BHP monster. Only 42K on it and 2 owners, Dealer purchase etc.

Happy to be back in the Sport Cool

Absolutely love the fact it can cruise on the motorway and return 29mpg. I was only getting 25 out of the 4.4SDV8!!

Stunning car, congrats! Thumbs Up

But take those figures with a large pinch of salt - LR's software is extremely optimistic.

rather calculate your consumption by GPS and amount used to fill up to the automatic pump shut-off. Thumbs Up --

Treated the SC to it's first wash yesterday (finally had a partly dry day).

I also gave it a ceramic coating glaze. This is nano technology stuff that I've never tried but thought it's worth a go.

Applies just like rainex, wipe on, buffs off. The paint needs to be in good shape to start with and luckily the Dealer had done a good machine polish before I took the car (it had been in the bodyshop). Didn't take long to do. Then gave the new alloys a coating of Poorboys wheal sealant.

Looks lovely. L319 D4 HSE

Mightn't be too bad. Just refilled my 494 SC and the indicated average of 27 mpg worked out at 25 mpg for a long motorway journey in very heavy stop-start traffic and several urban trips. (It was indicating 32 mpg average until I hit standing traffic on the M42 on the way down, an average eroded even further when it took 4 hours to cover 65 miles of M6 on the homeward leg). Seems to be doing about 2 mpg less than my previous ride, a Jaguar XFR with virtually the same engine, which I'm more than happy with.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

We have pathetic over policed speed limits here 100km/h mostly on the freeway then 110km/h max. When I had the V8SC I managed a brim to brim of 30mpg on a 300km trip as the car was only doing 1500 rpm at our speed limits. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

That's a very acceptable figure for a SC when you think that my (admittedly older) TDV8 diesel returns 25.3mpg overall. Makes a SC more tempting when I come to change... Shocked Robin

Agreed, my L405 4.4 SDV8 would only do about 25mpg.

Still loving this car, every journey is an occasion and fun. I have a lot of miles to do this week, literally one end of the country to another and I'm looking forward to it! L319 D4 HSE
