First the good news - now done over 700 miles and still over 1/3 original tank of petrol which cost me £40 - according to computer I'm averaging 3 miles per kW and 127 mpg
So that means the handbook is wrong
The NL website is wrong https://shop.mitsubishi-motors.nl/cat/band...bandensets Also the PHEV must be illegal to drive in many European countries during winter where they are compulsory such as Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Slovakia and Sweden http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overs...tyres.html My dealer has offered me a set of 16" Steel wheels like these with winter tyres. They are a lot more expensive than in the NL - he obviously doesn't know they can't be fitted here and I guess Brexit is to blame for the price difference not Rip off Britain Such a shame after 2 weeks PHEV ownership to experience this kind of service - it took me 16 years to feel like this about Land Rover Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

You may be right Ady - I never thought about winter tyres until I got the RRS and joined this forum

Muddy, I live high up on the pennines and we get more snow than most. I have never got to the point where I have been stuck. Yes winter tyres do make a huge difference when the weather gets really bad. The problem is, all those inexperienced drivers not running winter tyres, get stuck and block the road, so you can't go anywhere. Just to point out, I haven't always had a 4x4 either. Adjust your driving to the conditions and just hope someone else doesn't slide into you.

I'm a little paranoid as I've had 3 crashes in snow and ice admittedly in 2wds - I agree it's the other muppets that are biggest concern though - regularly had boy racers flying past my LRs and nearly demolished by a white van man who lost it on bend coming towards us

Sounds like you need to go on a winter off road driving course Muddy with that winter driving history. Buy some of the winter socks that are available. http://www.snowchainsandsocks.co.uk/?gclid...0wodKiEBvg For the odd day we get snow, i'm sure these will be more than adequate. Even for your driving skills. |

Not sure we ever get it bad enough here for snow chains and heard they damage tyres

Personally Muddy, i think you are worrying too much about it. Just enjoy the car for what it is.

Purchase all season tyres, then good regardless of weather. John
