936 miles this month @ 139.8 mpg - my best yet Cool

Total cost this month £27 elec and £34.75 petrol = £61.75 vs RRS @ £180 over similar distance IIRC Whistle

2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi Muddy,

If you include cost of electricity into MPG based on £5.19 for a gallon of fuel, your overall cost of £61.75 equates to 11.9 gallons so you are down to 'only' 78.65 MPG equivalent. - still pretty good.

The manufacturers quote great MPG figures on PHEV's but they never seem to factor in the cost of electricity Rolling Eyes 2019 BMW X3 2.0i M Sport in metalic black- Brilliant
2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Atlantic Grey, replaced with 2018 Frost White Outlander PHEV, can't fault em - now gone

2009 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys, Privacy Glass & Side Steps - Fantastic! but gone

Yep Mike even with electric costs still pretty good Thumbs Up

Only visiting a petrol station once a month and covering 936 miles with minimal exhaust fumes too - what's not to like Mr. Green

Ideally I'd like to charge using pv panels or wind turbine but right now that's not an option but hopefully one day Thumbs Up

As long as I lose less than I lost on my last RRS which was twice the price SRE I'll not complain - well not too much Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

It has been suggested that my comparison with RRS costs are biased so I've taken a look and would like to remedy a discrepancy Embarassed

I didn't take into account RRS £500 RFL/VED which means it would of cost around £220 last month compared to £61.75 for the phev - sorry if I misled anyone Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

a question re charging them

As I understand it, purely electric vehicles have to be plugged into the mains for re charging. Obvious really. What I can't understand is that these vehicles are primarily for city/town use, however as I see it, there are an awful lot of people living in towns/cities who do not have off road parking, & indeed some of these people can't even park close to their houses. In view of this are we to witness our streets littered with mains cables as the owners connect their cars to the mains supply for re charging.
Just a thought. current 2015 hse dynamic, grey.

Pko - purely electric vehicles have sufficient range that they can be charged at work or dedicated charge points out and about so you don't need to charge at home if it's not practical

Some cities are installing on street charge points for residents and visitors though to solve the problem you mention

Still enjoying the milk float and low running costs - 7 months and 7k miles now with nothing dropped off or creaking and no workshop visits Cool

Popular Shocked

Some might say I'm more like a lingering bad smell Whistle

Seriously though I'm still a LR Fan - more for its Heritage than the latest models at the moment - plus I still like to keep in touch with many great owners I've chatted with over the years and share experience/knowledge Thumbs Up

I may even be tempted back into a LR if it looks like they are listening to feedback and putting their house in order Mr. Green

Besides the Mitsubishi Forum is as dull as dishwater - not enough people finding faults or needing advice how to get something to work Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Muddy, what's the MPG on a long run without the battery, i.e. for example London to Leeds? Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4
