Can anyone advise me on what to do when leaving my TDV8 for 3 weeks? I've read lots of posts about flat batteries when people leave them for a while. . Thanks

I've left mine for the odd week and never had any problems, but you could get one of those small solar panels that clip onto your battery and keep it topped up or you could disconnect your battery which is fine if it's in garage and left unlocked but a pain if left on the street as you're then have to use the man lock in the pass door to get in again. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Just remove the -ve lead as it's usually easier, but either will do. No need to take them both off.

I often leave my RR S/C sitting for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. While the battery has never been totally flat there has been the odd ocasion where it would throw some codes due to the battery being low.
I noe leave it on a solar powered charger when gone and never had a problem since.

Ideally connect a Ctek to it to keep the battery charged. You can connect it up to the battery and lock the bonnet if you don't have the option of using the towing electrics to connect to.

If you decide to disconnect the battery, make sure you let the car go to sleep first. Unlock the car, unlock the bonnet and then go and have a cup of tea. The EMS will then go to sleep gracefully. I think it takes 2 minutes for the EMS to shut down so worth leaving it a few just to be sure. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
