A friend of mine has one of those Cteks and swears by it, uses on his twin turbo Supra which does about 300 miles a year, and his Porsche Turbo thing which he uses more often.

Thanks for all the replies. Forgive my ignorance but what is a CTEK? My car doesn't have tow bar electrics. Question

C-Tech battery conditioner is what you need!

Agree with everyone forget disconnecting the battery and just use a CTEK and shut the bonnet and you will know you will come back with the battery charged and no funny fault codes to worry about if you have disconnected the battery incorrectly.

BTW I think you can but the CTEK cheaper than the Amazon price shown. Current Merc GLE 3.5d 2016 model, 2011 RRS HSE standard
Previous 2012 FL2 liked but boot too small
Previous to LR's 3 x Merc E320 estates - fantastic load carriers and long distance cruisers, ultra reliable. Only changed as needed a 4x4 high tow vehicle. Did have a 1955 early LR drop down windscreen and fuel tank under the drivers seat; again very reliable and super rugged.

It depends really.

If you don't have a power socket near your car, disconnecting the battery is adequate.

But yes if RR are fussy and you don't use the car much anyway a ctek is a good investment.
