Final, Final update on this long saga.

Car all checked over and new 2nd key reprogrammed by Hunters Guildford -thank you well looked after. The outstanding refund I was due from LR for the Technical Bulletin update I was charged for in France from early July finally came good yesterday 18th October.

After repeated emails and telephone calls to LR Customer Service in the UK and France I got a result. LR France realised that I had been hugely messed around and told the La Rochelle dealer to refund 50% of the invoice value ie €686 instead of the original €350 . The Dealer has been delaying this and delaying this with excuses as to why they could not give me a cheque and finally LR France Regional Director spoke to the Director General of the Dealership who agreed to sign the cheque. Now the funny bit:

Arrived at the dealer yesterday and the receptionist said we had to wait for the Director General to arrive; the Service Manager kept hiding from us and would not acknowledge us. 30 minutes later a very smart suited Frenchman arrived with a beautiful PA in tow making a grand entrance like the Mafia to sign the cheque that the receptionist had already pre-filled out. For €685 is was a real French comedy which we wished we could have filmed.

Interestingly the only time over the whole episode we got an apology was from the Director General none of the Dealership staff.

Just hope we do not have to use that Dealership again - hence why reliability is so high on my list.
