Anybody else had this......
Whilst driving the car seems to pull back and slow down as if the brake has been gently pressed......
At idle and in drive it doesnt roll forward gently as it should......
Usually a quick shift into neutral.... or stop start resolves it......
Im guessing its a common problem....

Sounds like a sticky caliper to me. The stop start probably gives it the extra nudge to release the disc from the pads. Check your calipers aren't sticking first

When my car was in for it's 1 yr service, I was told that 3 gearbox software updates had been applied to correct various issues (one being as you described).
Could be worth checking with the dealer if yours needs it doing  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

You think they would have figured it out with the thousands and thousands of miles of testing, before the car is released
