Transmission problem MY12.... I think

Anybody else had this......
Whilst driving the car seems to pull back and slow down as if the brake has been gently pressed......
At idle and in drive it doesnt roll forward gently as it should......
Usually a quick shift into neutral.... or stop start resolves it......
Im guessing its a common problem....

Sounds like a sticky caliper to me. The stop start probably gives it the extra nudge to release the disc from the pads. Check your calipers aren't sticking first Thumbs Up

When my car was in for it's 1 yr service, I was told that 3 gearbox software updates had been applied to correct various issues (one being as you described).
Could be worth checking with the dealer if yours needs it doing Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Wow! 3 updates in a MY12 car??? You'd think they'd have figured it out by now!

You think they would have figured it out with the thousands and thousands of miles of testing, before the car is released Rolling Eyes

Anyone that thinks there isn't constant design, manufacture and performance changes between model years is a fool...not to mention the many different things that are picked up in the real world!! Mike

Agreed Mike, my only gripe was that I had to chase on these via reporting the problem (different to the above) rather than them being told to me as they found cures/improved the workings. Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
